Vladimir Natchev is a co-founder and a managing partner of Arsov Natchev Ganeva. He has more than 25 years of professional experience. His clients include financial institutions, private equity groups and corporations, public and governmental authorities, reputable non-for-profit institutions and international organizations.

Mr. Natchev was several times a member of the parliamentary legislative commission, where he actively contributed to the harmonization of the Bulgarian commercial legislation and in particular the regulations dealing with bankruptcy and debt restructurings with the EU law.

During the period of transition of the Bulgarian economy from a command-based into a market-oriented economy Vladimir Natchev has taken an active role as an expert and legal advisor in the privatization of many large state-owned companies.

At present Vladimir Natchev practices predominantly in the areas of Banking and Finance, Insolvency and Restructuring, Commercial Law, Dispute Resolution. Vladimir Natchev combines a deep understanding of his fields with broad sector knowledge, having represented clients from the Finance, Manufacturing, Hotel, Retail, Energy and Media and Communications industries. 

Vladimir Natchev has published articles and studies in Bulgaria and abroad and frequently speaks at seminars on insolvency and restructurings. He is author and co-author of various publications among which ’Harmonization and Unification of Existing EU Business Law‘, Sofia, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences; ’Application of Insolvency Procedure and Analysis of Insolvability‘, ABA CEELI, USAID; ‘The Treatment of Employee and Pension Claims in Insolvency’, University of British Columbia and many others.

In 2008 Vladimir Natchev was admitted in the French Ecole Nationale d'Administration (ENA), where he completed a program ‘Cycle des Hautes Etudes Européennes’, promotion ‘Jean-Claude Trichet‘.

  • Led a team advising Bloomberg L.P. on commercial, tax and other deriving regulatory matters in connection with the Bloomberg’s electronic trading platforms for securities and other financial instruments in Bulgaria;
  • Advised BNP Paribas on the implementation of Euro 124 million Bank Loan Agreement for the needs of Bulgarian Oil Refinery Lukoil and management and supervision of the team performing due diligence of the borrower company;
  • Steered a legal team rendering full scope legal services to Société Générale on the acquisition of a key Bulgarian banking institution, First Investment Bank AD;
  • Advised Alpha Bank – Branch Bulgaria of the legal options for restructuring of a large exposure of towards a construction company;
  • Led a team consulting the London based Jordan International Bank regarding the financing extended by the bank for the realization of a large scale industrial project in Bulgaria;
  • Led a team providing advice in the bankruptcy and liquidation proceedings regarding Private Agricultural and Investment Bank AD, Agricultural Credit Bank AD and Mineralbank;
  • Leading lawyer in the bankruptcy procedure of the Bulgarian national airline carrier "Balkan Airlines" AD, representing the interests of IATA and the largest airports in Europe – airports in Paris, Frankfurt, Zurich, etc.;
  • Assisted the leading global operator of water services, Veolia Water, in the acquisition of the United Utilities’s European non-regulated assets, including the controlling interest in Sofyiska Voda AD, the concessionaire of the water and wastewater system of Sofia.
  • Assisted a larger foreign investor  in the privatization procedure for privatization of majority stake in the indebted cargo arm of the Bulgarian State Railways – BDZ Cargo;
  • Led and steered numerous insolvency and litigation proceedings against debtors of one of the largest multinationals operating on the Bulgarian market, such as Danone, ArcelorMittal, Sanofi Pasteur, Shell, Air Liquide, Ecopack Bulgaria, Sodexo, Groupama, Air France, International Air Transport Association (IATA) and many others.
